Pietro Gregorini was born on March 18, 1984, in the delightful hills of the Marches. As a child, he had already begun to fall in love with the most oddly assorted things: from the culture of the pageboy haircut and the magical properties of cocoa butter, to the dissection of every sort of technological gadget to discover what was hidden inside. He doesn’t remember much about his past except for when he was three years old, driven back and forth to art exhibitions by his uncle with Bruce Springsteen, Queen, and Dire Straits blaring from the radio.
He develops a passion for photography at eight, bringing ruin to his family what with the cost of film and photo development. At the age of eleven, he becomes interested in poetry and writing, which allows him to rest on his laurels in the scholastics years to come.
While in high school, he develops an interest in webdesign, a passion which at fifteen will allow him to win a competition for original ideas for the creation of a town website. During the same period he begins a series of collaborations with the technical school he attended. In 2003, when his IT studies are complete, he decides to put programming aside definitively in order to dedicate himself completely to the field communications.
He learns the tricks of the trade and the professional basics in a small graphics studio. The following year he registers for a course in Visual Design at Poliarte Institute in the city of Ancona, which he will complete in November, 2007, with a thesis on communications in d’essai movie theatres. During his university studies he begins a profitable freelance activity, collaborating with several public and private institutions. In the summer of 2006, he decides to expand this activity at the Eikon agency in Fossombrone. In 2008 he leaves Pesaro and moves to MIlan in search of new spurs for his profession. In May of the same year he begins to work at Fosbury ADV, a recently-established communications agency in Milan.
He currently lives and works in Milan. Tomorrow, who can say? :)
Pietro Gregorini nasce il 18 Marzo 1984 tra le ridenti colline marchigiane. Inizia sin da piccolo ad appassionarsi alle cose più disparate: dalla cultura del caschetto alle proprietà magiche del burro di cacao, fino a vivisezionare qualsiasi amenità tecnologica per scoprire cosa vi fosse all’interno. Non ricorda molto del suo passato, eccetto quando a tre anni veniva scarrozzato dallo zio per mostre d’arte con Bruce Springsteen, i Queen e i Dire Straits che uscivano dall’autoradio.
Inizia ad appassionarsi alla fotografia ad otto anni, diventando una rovina per la famiglia tra pellicole e sviluppo. Più tardi, a 11 anni, inizierà a interessarsi anche alla poesia e alla scrittura, che gli permetteranno di campare di rendita per tutti i temi degli anni scolastici a venire.
Durante la scuola superiore si dedica da autodidatta al webdesign, passione che lo porterà a vincere un concorso di idee a 15 anni per la realizzazione di un sito comunale. Durante lo stesso periodo inizia una serie di collaborazioni grafiche con l’istituto tecnico che frequenta. Una volta terminati gli studi in informatica nel 2003, decide di accantonare definitivamente la programmazione per dedicarsi pienamente alla comunicazione.
Inizia a imparare gli strumenti del mestiere e le prime basi professionali in un piccolo studio grafico. L’anno successivo si iscrive ad un corso di studi in Visual Design al Poliarte di Ancona, che terminerà nel novembre del 2007 con una tesi sulla comunicazione delle sale cinematografiche d’essai. Durante il periodo di studi inizia una proficua attività da freelance collaborando con diverse istituzioni pubbliche e private. Nell’estate del 2006 decide di approfondire l’attività in agenzia alla Eikon di Fossombrone. Nel 2008 abbandona il territorio pesarese per trasferirsi a Milano in cerca di nuovi stimoli. Dal maggio dello stesso anno inizia a lavorare presso Fosbury ADV, una giovane agenzia milanese di comunicazione.
Attualmente vive e lavora a Milano. Domani, chissà? :)
